Celebrating Heritage While Breathing New Life into Craft Beer Community
As we reflect on our first anniversary of collaborating with Nibezun, the strides we’ve made are truly gratifying. Last year, our brewery’s tasting room staff lovingly selected Nibezun as our Charitable Partner of the Month, which beautifully supplemented our initial $2,500 grant with an additional $2,776, enough to fund their new roof. This critical enhancement sets the stage for Nibezun’s ambitious solar array installation, aimed at more sustainable future operations. This year, we’re not stopping there; another $2,500 grant, along with proceeds from two specially brewed draft beers, is set to further bolster our commitment to Nibezun.
On this Indigenous Peoples’ Day in Maine, we’re inspired to continue our journey in amplifying the efforts of the Wabanaki Confederacy. Their relentless pursuit of having this day officially recognized speaks volumes to the cultural significance and communal resilience that echoes through the Allagash Wilderness Waterway—an untamed expanse that forms the lifeblood of our brewery’s identity. Our name itself, a tribute to this venerable cultural legacy, is a transliteration of “bark stream” from the Penobscot language.
