The Unveiling of a New Craft Destination: Four Winds Beach House & Brewery

Nestled in the scenic Southlands development of Tsawwassen, Four Winds Brewing Co., a beloved contender in the craft beer scene, is set to open its latest venture – the much-anticipated Four Winds Beach House & Brewery. After an impressive eight-year journey navigating planning intricacies and global hurdles, including the challenges posed by the pandemic, the brewery is gearing up for its grand opening in early August at 6350 Market Ave.

Having first conceived the idea in 2014, the Four Winds team partnered with real estate developers from Century Group to bring this dream to life. This development, uniquely focused on integrating food and farming, spans over 530 acres and sits adjacent to the picturesque Boundary Bay Regional Park and Centennial Beach. With 80 percent of the land designated as public property, it provides a welcoming environment for both the local community and visitors alike.

A Brewing Vision Reshaped by the Times

Co-owner Adam Mills reflects on the journey, noting that the Beach House’s opening had initially been slated for 2021 or 2022. However, initial proposals met with resistance from Delta council, and the subsequent pandemic delayed their plans further. Rather than be deterred, the team saw this as an opportunity to refine their vision, ultimately designing a smaller, more adaptable site that accommodates both a restaurant and a brewing facility.

Mills shares, “The pandemic allowed us to revisit every detail, from financial and business strategies to architectural plans, ensuring that when we open our doors, we’re delivering an experience that’s true to our vision and sustainable for the future.” He expressed deep-rooted optimism throughout the process, a tribute to the tight-knit fabric that binds the Tsawwassen community and the innovative spirit of Four Winds Brewing Co.

Culinary and Beer Inspired by the Land and Sea

With its prime location near productive farmland, Four Winds Beach House will feature a menu celebrating local ingredients, offering a tantalizing blend of West Coast flavors inspired by the surrounding land and sea. Guests can look forward to savoring locally sourced delicacies, including Salt Spring Island mussels, fresh seafood, and a variety of other culinary delights.

The beer menu promises a delightful duality, offering both traditionally inspired European brews alongside exciting modern creations. This curated selection, paired with a cocktail program and a wine list exclusively featuring B.C. wines, ensures that every palate finds satisfaction.

A Community-Oriented Brewing Experience

While the Beach House introduces a new chapter for Four Winds, fans of their original taproom on 72nd Street will still find the same vibrant atmosphere, with rotating taps of innovative beers and a satisfying menu featuring tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and burgers.

Mills adds, “We can’t wait to serve our community with this new location while continuing to welcome everyone to our original taproom. We’re excited to keep pushing boundaries and creating memorable experiences for all who visit.”
