SteepleJack Brewing Expands to the Oregon Coast
SteepleJack Brewing, a beloved name in the Portland craft beer scene, is set to expand its horizons with the upcoming opening of a new location in Manzanita, Oregon. Nestled near the picturesque coastline, this new spot will offer beer lovers an inviting retreat combining scenic views and delectable brews. As part of this ambitious venture, significant renovations are planned to transform the existing space. Co-owner Brody Day shares, “We aim to bring the outside in,” highlighting plans for a more open interior that basks in natural light, alongside an updated deck to enhance the coastal experience.
The culinary experiences offered by SteepleJack are just as noteworthy. Executive chef Lawrence Gable is already crafting a menu that promises to captivate. Anchored around crowd favorites like burgers and the renowned SteepleJack Broadway chicken sandwich, these offerings will include popular items from their other Portland pubs. Meanwhile, head brewer Anna Buxton is creating a signature “Manzanita Lager,” a special brew that aims to make a splash at the new location’s grand opening projected for March 2026.
Diversifying with a Co-Packing Facility
In a strategic move to broaden its business ventures, SteepleJack has recently acquired a co-packing facility located in Southeast Portland. This facility, steeped in brewing history as the former Alameda Brewing production site, will now serve as a hub for non-alcoholic beverage production. This acquisition marks an exciting new era for SteepleJack, allowing collaborations beyond traditional craft beer, including non-alcoholic sodas and seltzers.
The facility enables SteepleJack to produce batches as small as 100 gallons and as large as 4000 gallons, offering flexibility to innovate and develop new to market products like energy drinks and sparkling fruit juices. Brody Day emphasizes the potential of crafting unique, small-batch beverages, which could include future small-scale brewing projects from SteepleJack or contract brewing for other brands.
The Future of Craft Beer and Beyond
Part of SteepleJack’s expansion includes integrating a 15-barrel brewhouse into the co-packing facility. Originally intended for use in Hillsboro, this brewhouse opens the door for potential small-batch brewing and further collaborations within the brewing landscape. This commitment to diversify complements SteepleJack’s core mission to enchant beer enthusiasts with innovative and flavorful experiences.
SteepleJack’s expansion into new territories, both geographically and product-wise, underscores the dynamic nature of the craft beer industry. BreweriesNearMe.us champions such innovative endeavors, inviting all beer enthusiasts to explore these exciting developments, whether through a pint at Manzanita’s upcoming brewery or exploring the inventive journey of non-traditional brews at the co-packing facility.
